Last Gasp Falls Just Short

VolQuest.com TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- After being slowed by a broken bone in his foot, Tennessee junior wideout Denarius Moore has surged in recent weeks for the Vols.
While Moore tallied four receptions for a team-high 73 yards Saturday, it was his recovery of Daniel Lincoln's onside kick that nearly catapulted Tennessee to an improbable victory at top-ranked Alabama.
"(Head coach Lane Kiffin) put me on special teams about two weeks ago," Moore said. "He pointed to me and said, 'Be ready.' My eyes didn't get big; they never left the ball."
Tennessee took Moore's recovery and marched 31 yards in seven plays to position itself for its first win against a No. 1 team since the 1985 squad toppled Auburn. The Tide held on for a 12-10 win when Lincoln's last-second field goal attempt was blocked at the heart of the line of scrimmage.
