Gilchrist coming home
Abbeville (SC) native Toquavius Gilchrist is coming home. The El Dorado (KS) Butler County C.C. LB signed to play his college football with South Carolina on Wednesday.
A source close to the situation informed GamecockCentral.com on Tuesday that Gilchrist had decided to sign with USC on Wednesday after receiving a scholarship offer from the Gamecocks.
On Wednesday around 12:45, Gilchrist put pen to paper and became USC's first signee for the 2010 class.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder played running back in high school but moved to linebacker at Butler and has excelled. He committed to Houston earlier this month, but wanted to get back to his home state.
Gilchrist has three years of eligibility remaining.
