Murphy visits two more
Tyler Murphy out of Wethersfield (CT) is heading down the home stretch of the recruiting process with three schools sticking out. Two of the schools he recently visited were Fordham and Temple. Now after visiting the three schools that have offered where does he stand?
Murphy, 6-foot-2, 190 pounds took a visit to Fordham to start his weekend of visits and he saw a lot.
"Fordham was nice, very beautiful campus. They don't have the best facilities; it seemed like a good overall place. They have a good group of guys on the staff."
The second of his two school weekend trip took him to Temple where the Owls were preparing for their bowl game.
"Temple was different from the other schools because they still have a game left, so I got to see their coaches in action and players practice. Temple is right in the city, and the people were very supportive of the football program which was cool."
At the beginning of the month Murphy took his first visit to Syracuse and even though he likes the Orange the two star prospect has questions about the school.
"Syracuse is a good school, but I want to play quarterback at the next level and I don't see Syracuse giving me that opportunity."
Now that the Connecticut product has visited all of the schools that have offered him does he have a favorite?
"I don't really have the visits ranked, but my favorite would probably be Temple. The reason being is that I was able to meet a lot of the players and incoming recruits, which allowed me to make a connection and see what kind of people make up the program."
Even though he has no other offers at this time he has not decided to shut down the recruiting process because Murphy feels other schools might ask him to visit late in the process.
"I have no other visits planned, but I've heard from Mississippi State. I don't know how things stand with that. If other schools want me to visit I would consider."
Murphy remains in no hurry to make a commitment.
