Three-star makes the pledge
Three-star playmaker Darien Johnson (5-9, 175, 4.5) from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat was the catalyst for a surprising Amat that ended up 10-2. He made his decision on where he will attend school and play his college football.
Johnson picked New Mexico State, a program that is having one of their best recruiting efforts ever.
"I liked the atmosphere at New Mexico State," Johnson said. "It was a lot better than I thought it would be.
"Coach DeWayne Walker is a great coach," Johnson said. "He's like the main reason why I was really interested in the school. To be able to play for a guy like him, that's really good.
