Sooners Land Skill Talent for 2011?
The first 24-hours following Oklahoma's junior day on Sunday had been excruciatingly quiet but Arlington (Texas) Martin running back/safety Danzel Williams brought all of that to an end.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound athlete came to Norman yesterday with little fanfare but already holding offers from Oklahoma State, Kansas, and TCU among several others. However according to Williams an offer was something he always thought was possible.
What he didn't realize was possible was a commitment.
"The It went really good, the offer was partly a surprise but I knew they had interest in me. I didn't know they were going to offer me that day or anything though," Williams said. "(Bob Stoops) called me into the office and I really felt what he was saying and then they offered me.
"I really loved it, everything was close together and everyone was real genuine. We talked to a couple of players and they gave me some good insight."
"On the way home me and my family started talking and felt like it was the decision to make."
