Sooners Host Another Second Baptist QB Star
Already holding three commitments from the Houston area it seems the Sooners are not only trying to make a bigger splash in Texas' largest city but also seeing the fruits of their labor. Though there are several other 2011 prospects Oklahoma wouldn't mind seeing as the final pieces of the class, one 2012 prospect helped cement himself as part of Oklahoma's recruiting during the Sooners summer camp last weekend.
Houston Second Baptist quarterback Jeremiah Briscoe spent last year backing up current Texas Longhorn freshman Connor Wood but has already picked up an offer from the Baylor Bears. A few days later he made his way to Norman and continued to impress Big 12 South, for now, coaches.
"I had been really interested in Oklahoma and stuff and then one day when me and coach (Keith) Blackmon got done watching film coach (Josh) Heupel called coach and asked when I could come up and he wanted me to come up as soon as I could," the 6-foot-3, 179-pound Briscoe said.
"He wanted to get an early look at me and he called coach back in the locker room and tried to figure out a date that would work. I was in Waco in Baylor the day before so we just went up to Oklahoma."
