San Francisco (Calif.) City College offensive lineman David Garness had a day of firsts Sunday.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle received his first scholarship offer - an offer which came under the rarest of circumstances.

Originally from Anchorage (Alaska.), Garness received news that his first full ride to play D-I college football would come from the decade's most dominant football program in the Pacific West.
