Pennsylvania LB focused on four
Four schools are still in contention for one of the top remaining prospects in Pennsylvania.
Armstead Williams announced last month that he had a top three of Michigan, Maryland and Iowa, and those schools appear to be heading steady at the top.
Early this week he told Rivals.com that Purdue is making a strong push as well, though he still isn't sure whether he will take an official visit to check the Boilermakers out yet.
"Basically, I'm planning on taking an unofficial visit to Iowa on September 5th and from there I might be able to go to Purdue. I'll have to see about that and wait for a couple of things," he said.
That won't be the only visit he will be taking to Iowa between now and whenever he makes his decision. He also plans on taking an official visit to Iowa. He just hasn't set that up yet.
"We had a couple of 7-on-7s at Maryland and this year we went to Michigan and I visited the school," he said. "I haven't set up officials [to those schools] yet.
"I want to take four official visits. I know for sure I'm gonna go to Iowa and Maryland. I've got to talk to the coaches [from Michigan] about what I'm gonna do with them. I'm still a little undecided on some stuff."
All four schools have offered the 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway, and he said they are "basically even" at this point.
Purdue and Iowa are recruiting Williams as a receiver while Maryland and Michigan are recruiting him as linebacker.
