CMU hoops takes on South Alabama
The Central Michigan basketball continues their "No Home November" schedule tonight when they travel to take on South Alabama at 7pm tonight. CMU will not have a home game until December 1st due to ongoing construction on their new arena, meaning the Chippewas will have played five straight on the road to open the 2010-11 season.
CMU was a member of the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii last week and they went 1-2 in the tournament. The Chippewas would open with a win over Cal State Fullerton before dropping an overtime game to Montana State and a three point loss to host school Hawaii to cap the tournament off. Senior Jalin Thomas was named a member of the All-Tournament team and he has averaged 16.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

* After starting 1-2 at the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic last weekend, the Chippewas travel to South Alabama to take on the Jaguars for the first time in program history. Both teams are led in scoring by underclassmen entering Saturday's contest. The Chippewas are led by freshman Trey Zeigler who is averaging 18.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. The Jaguars are led by sophomore Martino Brock, who leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game.
"South Alabama is a well coached team. Their head coach Ronnie Arrow is a very experienced coach. South Alabama is picked to compete in the top half of the Sun Belt Conference. They are very athletic, small team that wants to get up and down and force tempo. We are going to have to take care of the basketball and at the same time play inside-out and get ready to attack some zone again" said CMU head coach Ernie Zeigler.
