Stansbury talking Crimson Tide
For the first time this season Mississippi State knocked off a ranked opponent downing then No. 24 ranked Florida 71-64 on Saturday.
The loss dropped the Gators from the top spot in the Southeastern Conference making room for the Bulldogs next opponent Alabama. The Crimson Tide are 5-1 in league play have already knocked off MSU once already this season.
The two twin state rivals square off Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa at Coleman Coliseum.
"Anytime you go on the road it's never easy," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "We're going to play an Alabama team that's playing awful well right now. I guess they are leading the SEC. We're having to go on the road and playing good teams and it's not easy."
The Tide claimed a 75-57 victory in Starkville on Jan. 9 in the conference opener for both schools. So far this season State is 1-1 on the road in SEC action.
Alabama enters Wednesday's game having won three straight games over Kentucky, Auburn and LSU. The Crimson Tide starting lineup features three upperclassmen, one sophomore and a freshman point guard Trevor Releford, who led Alabama in scoring with 17 points in the last meeting with the Bulldogs.
