Georgia RB Visits BC
The Boston College staff is looking all over the country to find their next great running back prospect. Even if that means heading down south into the heavily recruited state of Georgia. Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge running back DiAndre Atwater has been recruited by the Eagles for some time now and made the trip up to Boston College a few weekends ago.
What was it like visiting Boston College?
"I really liked the whole atmosphere, campus environment, and the surrounding city life," said Atwater.
The 5-foot-9, 195 pound back has not been offered yet but has been hearing from Georgia Tech, Louisville, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and UCLA.
What did he think of the Eagles scrimmage?
"The scrimmage was good to see. I could definitely see myself as a part of that offense," said Atwater. "Though they haven't offered, Coach Siravo has said that an offer could come in the spring."
The Georgia native says that UCLA, Boston College, and Georgia Tech are his top schools right now.
Like many high school recruits, the recruiting process has been a very different for him.
"The recruiting process is definitely nothing like I've experienced before," said Atwater. "I've learned that patience is the one major thing that I need to have a whole lot of."
Atwater racked up 657 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns on 120 carries last year.
He says that school environment, academics and the football program are the most important things he is looking at.
