Don't let Marshall's size fool you
Jordan Marshall has been told that he's too small for most of his life, but he does not come up small on the football field.
Marshall, a wide receiver, is, he said, "really interested'' in attending Army, and has already taken unofficial visits to Wake Forest and Vanderbilt.
The junior at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs (Ga), has not received any offers yet, and he said he very much wants to visit Army and the West Point campus.
An excellent student, he communicated with Army assistant coach Clarence Holmes last month.
"I like the idea of being guaranteed a job after I graduate,'' he said about the commitment after graduated from West Point.
Asked why someone would be interested in a 5-foot-8, 170-pound receiver, Marshall said, "I play bigger than my size and I have a lot of heart. I'm quick off the line; I play like a scat back.
And I can go get the ball. I have a 34-inch vertical.''
He said he has been timed in the 40, both at 4.52 and 4.49.
Interested in studying architecture, Marshall has just below a 4.0 grade point average.
