Defensive end JaMichael Winston of Prichard (Ala.) Vigor already had a pretty good offer list, but he was particularly excited about the one he got Thursday.

It came from Michigan State.

"I was happy I got that offer," Winston said. "I was surprised they offered. Being from down South, we don't get that many northern schools to come look at us. I didn't expect them to come that far. But they've seen my film and liked it."
