BROWNWOOD, TX-If you look on Kevin Vaccaro's Rivals.com prospect database page, you will find an impressive list of schools that he says he is interested in.
However only one school has the all important scholarship offer check next to them and it's Sonny Dykes' Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
"Things are going pretty good right now," Vaccaro said of his recruiting process. "Right now I'm really just waiting on some schools to see how interested they are in me and if they will be coming with a scholarship offer anytime soon.
"I was actually at the Texas camp this past weekend and I think I performed well. I was talking to the coaches and they said that they are going to be getting back to me soon. I know that they are looking at some other guys right now too ahead of me but I think they are interested in me as well."
The 5-9, 175-pound cornerback out of Brownwood High School in Texas was in attendance last Sunday at the Bulldogs one-day camp.
"Tech is my only offer right now," Vaccaro said. "They offered me about a month ago and they were really the first school to show a lot of interest in me so that was cool. I was actually there (in Ruston) last week for their one-day camp. It is a small campus and all but the coaches at Louisiana Tech are cool and they really seem to want me and are recruiting me hard.
"I felt pretty comfortable during my time on the campus. I appreciate Tech a lot for being the first school to extend the scholarship offer. Add to that the fact that I really do like the coaching staff a whole lot over there (at Tech). I am not close to making a decision right now but Louisiana Tech is definitely in the running for me. We are going to just have to wait and see."
When it comes to a decision date for the all important commitment announcement, Vaccaro said he expects to see the recruiting process all the way out.
"I'm not making a decision anytime soon," he said. "I'm going all the way to February (Signing Day) and then I will make my decision known."
