Fears likes the Big East
Duncanville (TX) Duncanville defensive tackle Jamaal Fears holds one offer at this time, but he is hoping for more. One of those schools that he is interested in is Syracuse.
Why does the 6-foot-2, 300 pounds prospect from the Lone Star State have such great interest in a school so far north?
"Well, first of all, the defensive line coach was cool and down to earth and second I always wanted to attend a school in the Big East."
Right now it is has been awhile since Syracuse came around, but there was mutual interest at one point during the recruiting season.
"The defensive line coach, Coach Brumbaugh came to my school around May. He wanted to chat with me and told me he would keep in touch," Fears stated. "He called me about two weeks after that, but no contact ever since. I told him Syracuse was high on my list though."
With one offer in hand he is hoping for more and he thinks he may land another one soon.
"I am anticipating an offer from Sam Houston State sometime this week. The coach has really been wanting me to attend a one day camp out there this Thursday."
If Syracuse were to offer however he may just stop looking at any other school.
"If I were to pick up an offer from Syracuse that would make me extremely happy. I would probably take a visit and check out the facilities and if I like then maybe I would commit."
The big defensive prospect thinks that whatever school does land him will get a very valuable piece to their puzzle.
"I can bring leadership, enthusiasm, and I can make an impact on the field. I believe I can really help Syracuse defensively on the field."
