BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi Junior College system is known for producing talented offensive and defensive linemen. Louisiana Tech dipped into that system for its seventh commitment.
Anthony Brown (Northeast Mississippi Community College) committed to play for Tech this afternoon.
"An hour ago I called and committed to Coach [Stan] Eggen," Brown said. "I haven't talked to Coach [Sonny] Dykes yet he's out right now."
Brown is a run stopping defensive end he says and finished his sophomore season with around 60 tackles, 4 sacks, and 6 tackles for loss. Brown wants to major in Physical Education at Tech and was hosted by Christian Lacey during his visit on December 2.
Brown has graduated from Northeast and has a redshirt year available however Tech has told him he has the ability to start next season.
"If I work hard I'll be a starter they have told me," Brown said. "That had a lot to do with my decision."
The schools who told Brown he could start in his first season on campus were Troy, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana-Lafayette, and South Alabama.
Brown has visitd Troy, Middle Tennessee and South Alabama in addition to Tech. He will visit Memphis today but says he is firmly a Bulldog.
"Nothing can happen at Memphis that will sway me away from Tech," said Brown.
