Trani on his Cal commitment, Yenser, and Ole Miss
It's been a week and a half since 3-star La Mirada offensive lineman Michael Trani committed to California.He hasn't put the phone down in days."I'm in the process of making calls to all of the coaches who offered me scholarships, just letting them know, 'Hey I committed to Cal, thank you for the scholarship you offered me, I wish you luck on next season,'" Trani told GoldenBearReport on Wednesday night. "It's really humbling to get so many scholarship offers in Division I football. I know when I was a sophomore I didn't even dream of it, I wanted to get one, I thought that would be fantastic, that I'd embrace it, go after it, now that it's all here, all of the opportunities in front of me, it's really humbling. It just makes you work even harder.Trani holds 16 scholarship offers. Of the 16, he narrowed his decision down to Boise State, Ole Miss, and the Bears, before ultimately committing to Cal the morning of June 29th following a two-day unofficial visit."To have a scholarship offer to an SEC school, their football is fantastic, the academics part though was the main thing for me," Trani said.The proud owner of a 4.0 GPA last semester and a 3.6 overall, the opportunity to get an education at the No. 1 public school in the country wasn't lost on the 6'4", 285-pounder."Mainly the opportunity I'll have, I have any chance to make something of myself there," said Trani, who has expressed interested in biology, psychology, and the arts.
