Sooners Trying to Continue Fresno Pipeline
For the 2014 class the defensive tackle position is a bit of a head scratcher as it is not a deep, talented pool as in years past. Because of this the Sooners have their work cut out for them trying to find players who can be difference makers at the position. That hasn't stopped, and perhaps has prodded, Oklahoma from getting a jump on the 2015 class having already offered three prospects at the position, one of them being Jacob Daniel of Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North.
It was back in April that the offer was extended to the 6-foot-5 and 300-pound prospect, who was not expecting it after having spotted defensive coordinator, Mike Stoops while heading to practice that day.
"This one came from out of nowhere. I was staying the night at one of my friend's houses, we go to practice and I look out the car and I was like 'is that Mike Stoops?' and then I saw him and met him later," Daniel stated.
