In recent years, one problem area for coach Al Groh and Virginia on the recruiting trail has been closing the deal with the top wide receivers on their board. The Cavaliers are in good shape with several highly rated wideouts in the 2007 class early in the process, including Virginia Beach (Va.) Kempsville standout Jay Smith. And the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder could emerge as one of the most coveted players in the state.
