Could there be a leader?
Phillip Bates from Omaha North is conceivably one of the more exciting high school prospects to come out of Nebraska this year. The talented 6-foot-2, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback was among the 100-plus prospect visitors at the Red-White game yesterday. What are his feelings now about the Huskers? Have they punched into a true lead?
"It was pretty good, I liked it," he said about the weekend experience. One unexpected thing was the highlight of his trip to Lincoln. His writing hand must have gotten tired by the end of the day.
"Signing all of those autographs," he said quickly as the highlight. "It was pretty exciting." He signed "around 300" signatures.
