Florida pass rusher hopes for ND call

IrishIllustrated.com Jordan Hammond hasn't heard much from Notre Dame. But the 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end from Lakeland, Fla., hopes that fact will change.
A pass rusher with offers in hand from LSU, Florida, Georgia and Ohio State among others doesn't need more options when it comes to selecting a school, but the standout on perhaps the nation's most talented team wants to make South Bend a viable destination.
"I'm looking at most schools across the board for a good balance of academics and athletics, that's why I figure Notre Dame would be a good place," Hammond said. "I haven't really heard anything. Notre Dame hasn't recruited much of anybody at my school."
