In-depth with the newest Husky, Chris Izbicki
When you're labeled as one of the top football prospects for the class of 2007, your decision making skills are pushed to their limit. A top high school athlete faces a barrage of attention from coaches and recruiters, all working to make their program a bit more appealing then "the other guys".
Athletes have to weigh the prospect of their futures: will they get adequate playing time, does the school offer the academic programs they're interested in, is the program reputable, is the coach someone to admire? For sixteen- and seventeen- year old young men, this can often be a daunting task, yet for one athlete, the decision proved not that hard.
On May 24, Chris Izbicki, tight end/linebacker for Kirkland's Lake Washington High School, verbally committed to the University of Washington, and he couldn't be happier about his decision.
