Florida tight end commits to LSU
The Tight end position is one of the big needs in LSU's recruiting class of 2007 and the Tigers picked up a big one Friday from the sunshine state.
Tight end Jordan Hammond (6-5, 235, 4.7) of the Lakeland Dreadnaughts gave his verbal commitment to the Tigers on Friday over scholarship offers from Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss, Alabama and Tennessee.
"It's just that the LSU coaching staff really sealed it for me, and that's why I wanted to go ahead and commit to LSU. They are a strong SEC school that always has a very good defense. I like the atmosphere at LSU, and the weather really isn't that different from Florida so I'm pretty relieved it's all done in getting this decision out of the way.
