Allen reacts to his ranking
It was close, but Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's defensive back Dionte Allen just missed out on a five-star ranking, landing at No. 33 in Rivals.com's top 100 prospects. The 6-0, 175-pound Allen reacted to that ranking on Monday and also talked about his summer plans and named a few teams that have piqued his interest more than others.
But, starting off with the ranking. The state of Michigan landed two five-star prospects in defensive back Ronald Johnson and defensive tackle Joseph Barksdale, a first for the state. Allen's placement at No. 33 was further testament to the strength of the state, talent-wise, in the 2007 class.
Backing up Allen's ranking in the nation is the bevy of scholarship offers he holds from the likes of Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC.
