Top three for Lincoln safety

Warchant.com A lot of times, kids want to go as far away from home as they can for college. But when your home is Tallahassee, and one of the nation's premier football programs is down the street, sometimes you change your mind. Lincoln High School safety Deshaun "Franklin" Barnes had hoped to leave the Capital City, but the lure of the 'Noles may be too hard to turn down.
"I was trying to leave Tallahassee," said Barnes, "but if that's the best place for me, I'll go."
Of the schools recruiting Barnes, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety says FSU, Tennessee, and Auburn are his favorites. Other schools under consideration include Florida, Clemson and LSU. It's a long way to signing day but with the 'Noles having the home court advantage they may be tough to beat.
"The FSU coaches, I've been here for awhile and I know it like the back of my hand," said Barnes. "They want me as a rover. Some say strong safety, some defensive back, and some outside linebacker."
