Ole Miss gets commitment No. 16

The Ole Miss recruiting train keeps rolling down the tracks at a record pace as head coach Ed Orgeron notched his 16th commitment for the 2007 signing class Thursday, less than five months after signing the No. 16 rated class in the nation.

Orgeron has received a verbal pledge from one of the top prospects in Florida - Titusville (Astronaut HS) defensive lineman Rufus Williams.

Williams, a 6-foot-3, 225 defensive end with 4.6 speed, had received offers from SEC schools Ole Miss, Alabama, and Tennessee as well as from West Virginia and a host of other schools.

"I picked Ole Miss because they put a lot of guys in the league," Williams told FLAVarsity.com Thursday evening. "Coach O is a great defensive line coach and I'll be coached by one of the best. Another big reason is that I really hit it off well with coaching staff. I'm excited to be a Rebel and I plan on taking unofficial visit sometime next month."
