Staying close to home was important to Des Moines (Iowa) Roosevelt defensive prospect Fabian Brown. So was finding a coaching staff that he felt he could connect with. So were academics.

Brown found everything he was looking for at Iowa State and has quickly accepted a scholarship offer that came his way following a strong summer camp performance.

Brown is a young man of few words but obviously, his play on the field speaks loudly. At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, he's being recruited as a linebacker and/or defensive end prospect by the Cyclones. After a few days of thinking through his options, he went into action last week.
