Watkins will listen

UDUBNation.com Unlike most heavily recruited high school athletes, Anthony Watkins does not hail from a prestigious program. Highline High School in Burien did not win a single game last season, but that does mean that the future is dim for head football coach Mike Brown and his squad.
In the team's final game of the season, against Seamount League rival Lindbergh High, one of Lindbergh's wide receivers shredded the Highline defense to pieces in the first half. In the second half, coach Brown ordered Watkins to cover the talented receiver in question. The result? "Anthony just shut him down," says Brown. Watkins' performance in that half of football alone has generated attention from recruiters across the country.
Anthony Watkins, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 185 pounds, missed Highline's first three games last season but showed tremendous promise playing quarterback in 2005, though he is primarily being recruited as a defensive back. The University of Washington is among three colleges he is interested in, the other two being Oregon State and the University of Kentucky. He currently has no official visits scheduled, but the Beavers and Wildcats both have scholarship offers on the table.
