Cavaliers jump back into the fray for Jones
Jeff Jones was one of the top targets on Virginia's basketball board last fall. But the 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard from Monsignor Bonner in Drexel Hill, Pa., made a commitment to Maryland in late November and the Cavaliers moved on. Jones, however, decided to reopen his recruitment last month and UVa is right back in the thick of things. CavsCorner caught up with Jones this week to see where things stand now.
"A lot of schools have called, and I have been hearing a lot from Virginia," Jones said. "But I'm just taking my time. I feel like I rushed the decision the first time and I just want to take things slow and make the right choice."
It's easy to understand why so many schools are calling.
Jones is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 34 overall player in the class of 2007, and he is a dynamic scorer and shooter. He is also working on expanding his game this summer.
