Smith down to seven, VT makes the cut
Rivals100 wide receiver Jay Smith out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Kempsville has cut his list of favorites to seven. Virginia Tech is one of the schools making the list, who else is still in the hunt for the 6-foot-2, 197-pounder?
"We have just cut his list to seven schools in the last couple days," his father, Mordecai Smith said. "Schools in that list include Clemson, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Miami, Tennessee and Virginia. We are planning to take four unofficial visits in mid to late July to North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Tennessee."
Does anyone currently lead for the four-star prospect?
"No school is ahead of another and I think it's going to come down to where Jay feels he has the best opportunity to major in architecture," he said. "The one thing about all these schools is that they offer that program."
