Walls: 'Tech is where my heart was'
Logan Walls could have had his pick of almost any school in the Southeast, but it was the feeling of family that led him to commit to Georgia Tech last week. Walls, a defensive tackle at Dawson County High School in Dawsonville, had narrowed his choices down to Tech and Georgia and he says he always felt more of a connection with the Yellow Jackets.
"I was down at Georgia one day and then I was at Tech the next day," Walls said. "Tech is just where my heart was. I felt like that's where I needed to be."
Tech was one of the first schools to begin recruiting Walls earlier this spring.
"They were my second offer," Walls said. "Tech was the only camp I went to last summer. I went to a one-day camp down there and last year I went to the Auburn-Georgia Tech and I went up to the Duke-Georgia Tech game. I've only been to one game at Bobby Dodd, but I went to the (road) games at Auburn and Duke last year. I got a few letters and stuff and then I didn't hear from them for a few months. Then Coach (Charles) Kelly called the school and I called him back. He offered me the first time I talked to him."
Walls said he always liked the Jackets.
