One team to the top for Williams
Jacksonville, Fla., First Coast cornerback Jamire Williams recently debuted as the Sunshine State's No. 54 overall prospect in the class of 2007, and one school has emerged as the team to beat for his services.
"South Carolina is my favorite," the 6-foot, 180-pound Williams said. "I just like what all they have to offer."
Williams, who runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.4-second range, finds the opportunity to play for Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier particularly appealing.
"When I went to camp there, coach Spurrier spent a lot of time with me and really made me feel comfortable with him," Williams said. "I've been following him since his days at Florida, and I just think he's a great coach."
Williams finds other aspects of the Gamecock program to his liking.
