Virginia Tech added a third commitment today from Richmond, Va., Hermitage athlete Alonzo Tweedy. The 6-foot-1, 173-pounder visited Blacksburg today to give the Tech staff a commitment in person.

"I went there with the intention to commit while I was visiting," he said. "I talked to coach Cavanaugh and Beamer and gave them my commitment. They seemed very happy and congratulated me on my commitment. They added that they look forward to me being apart of the program."

Tweedy has held onto the offer from the Hokies for a few months. What finally put them over the top?

"They had always been one of the schools I wanted to go to," he said. "I have been following them since I was 12 and Michael Vick was there. It means a lot to me to be able to go there too. Beyond my desire to go there, I felt like it's a good fit for me and I really like the campus a lot."
