Vegas RB in no hurry
Las Vegas, Nev., Del Sol running back prospect Tim Johnson exploded on the scene during the East Los Angeles NIKE Combine this past spring. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder hung up the highest SPARQ rating at the combine, and college coaches have begun taking notice. Where do the Oregon Ducks stand with Johnson? Duck Sports Authority talked with the rock-solid running back recently to find out.
The Rivals.com three-star recruit told us that although he had the highest SPARQ score at the combine, he felt that he could have done much better.
"I'm getting so much credit from the SPARQ score - it was I think a 98," said Johnson. "I benched 185 pounds 27 times; my 40 (yard dash) was messed up because we ran against the wind, but I got a 4.6 (seconds); and my vertical jump was a 35 (inches). I can do way better on all of those."
