Vols Moving Up With Rufus Williams

If you're reading this, then you know that it goes beyond stating the obvious to note that Florida is a good place to start when you're looking for high school football talent. Like every other program in the nation, Tennessee is no stranger to recruiting the Sunshine State with defensive standout Rufus Williams being a prominent target in this year's efforts.


Williams (6-foot-3, 225 pounds), from Astronaut high school in Titusville, Fla., attracted Tennessee's interest, and that of plenty of other programs early in the spring. The Vols, along with Alabama, Ole Miss, NC State, West Virginia and Colorado were quick to offer him.


Now though, with football season fast approaching, and recruiting lists getting ready to narrow, Tennessee looks to be putting itself in good position with Williams. The Vols, along with Alabama have consistently been at the top of his list for the past couple of months. Has anything changed lately?
