Chavis: “Same Goal, Different Route”
In the foothills of Southwestern Virginia, tucked between Danville and Lynchburg, lies the sleepy town of Chatham, the home of Hargrave Military Academy.
In this quiet setting, without amenities like cell phone reception, many of America's top football prospects work to improve their academic standing, while also playing some highly competitive football.
One such player, Miguel Chavis, a defensive end from Fayetteville (N.C.), has endured a whirlwind of change over the past couple of weeks.
Chavis was originally expecting to spend his senior season at Terry Sanford High School, but after learning that he would be ineligible there, he quickly enrolled at Hargrave, where he is one of just two true seniors playing on the Tigers' Post-Grad team this fall.
