The verdict is in...
The eye of the entire sports nation will be on Austin this weekend as the defending national champion Texas Longhorns take on Ohio State in the first regular season game match-up between the nation's top two teams since 1996.
On Tuesday, Texas head coach Mack Brown made sure that the focus of the game will be on the field and not off of it when he announced that starting cornerback Tarell Brown and back-up safety Tyrell Gatewood would not suit up for the game against the top-ranked Buckeyes.
Both players were arrested on Monday on marijuana possession charges, while Brown also faces charges of unlawfully carrying of a handgun. According to Brown, there was never any doubt about either player's status for Saturday's game once he learned of the situation.
"The two young men in question that had the personal issues on Monday were told Monday, with the team and the staff, that they would not participate in the game," Brown said in a short session with the media on Tuesday.
