Powerful in-state DT chooses State

SpartanMag.com The Michigan State coaching staff had hoped that an electric atmosphere in Spartan Stadium, and a primetime match-up against rival Notre Dame would generate recruiting momentum and maybe even a commitment or two.
It has done exactly that, as fourth-year Spartan head coach John L. Smith picked up one of the biggest recruiting victories during his tenure when three-star Flint Carman-Ainsworth standout Ryan Wheat verbally committed to the Spartans during his official visit last weekend.
