Bruce Carter, a 6-3, 210-pound athlete from Havelock, N.C.,, was originally a member of North Carolina's 2006 signing class, but circumstances led him to "grayshirt" this season, which will result in him arriving on the UNC campus for the spring 2007 semester.

He is expected to be on campus in time for spring practice, where he will compete for playing time at linebacker.
