Wildcat offense searching for consistency
The Kansas State offense has a motto. It wants to be "bold and daring" in 2006. That became apparent on the very first play from scrimmage this season. But when the Wildcats entered the red zone during the non-conference season, they often became bold and un-beautiful in a seemingly never-ending saga that took on a soap-opera type life of its own. As quarterback Dylan Meier said Tuesday, "Time to move forward."
Starting with the Big 12 Conference opener against Baylor, 1-3, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Casey Stadium, the Wildcats, 3-1, and their No. 11-ranked offense in the Big 12 Conference have a chance to step into a new season.
Consider the first four games, including a 24-6 loss to No. 8-ranked Louisville last Saturday as a warm-up.
"We're capable of doing it and we're going to do it and we're starting to really get it heading into Big 12 play," running back Thomas Clayton said. "That means a lot."
