GoPowercat.com Some players let actions speak louder than words. Leon Patton is one of those players. Kansas State's true freshman running back exploded for 301 all-purpose yards in his first career start Saturday against Oklahoma State, the most ever by a freshman and fifth-highest total in school history, but Patton had little to say about his electrifying performance afterwards.
Reporters crowded around the 5-foot-7 tailback inside the Vanier Football Complex, and while the questions kept coming, Patton's responses remained short.
Can you talk a little bit about your performance? "I couldn't have done it all by myself."
What can you tell us about your kick return for a touchdown? "What about it?"
You have to get a little bit of the credit for that one, right? "Everybody picked up their block, and I just ran through the hole."
