Sooners going back to Louisiana
One of the biggest surprise visitors of the Red River Shootout weekend was the decision of West Monroe, La. defensive lineman Luther Davis to attend. The 6-foot-4, 254-pound Davis was offered by Oklahoma early last week and quickly took up the opportunity to see the program's pinnacle game.
Not surprisingly, it was the atmosphere that caught his attention.
The Sooners had stalled on recruiting the Rivals250 member because, as the fourst prospect explains it, they felt like many Louisiana natives he was destined for LSU. However, LSU says he's from a family full of Hurricane and Seminole fans.
And for their efforts, the Sooners are being rewarded.
