Stats show Petrino to focus on the run first
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino says his offense needs to possess the ball and cut down its turnovers when it plays West Virginia a week from Thursday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
That's a given likely for any coach looking toward a game between the BCS 4th- and 6th-ranked teams (WVU and Louisville respectively).
But, interestingly, Petrino likes to run it even more than pass it, though the national reputation is just the opposite. The current Cardinal statistics show that Petrino ball is running the ball 56 percent of the time against passing it 44 percent passing at a time.
