Notebook: Taylor hitting his stride

AuburnSports.com After a slow start, senior Courtney Taylor has caught fire the last three weeks averaging 96 yards per game with two touchdowns.
The three-game stretch has come just in time for the senior who failed to register a touchdown until the eighth game against Tulane.
"It started off slowly," said Taylor. "Right now, I'm on a roll. I'm making things happen. I'm where I want to be."
Taylor credits a lot of his recent success to his wide receiver teammates. He was facing a lot of double-coverages early in the season but as first-year starters Rod Smith and Lee Guess stepped up their play, Taylor has seen many more opportunities.
"The first part of the season, I had to shoulder the load a little bit," said Taylor. "It was to let the younger guys get more experience. Now the younger guys are stepping up. They're more involved in the offense. Now I get open and I don't have to worry about too many double teams.
