Prince off to impressive start
With two straight wins, Kansas State, which was projected to finish last in the Big 12 North division for a third-straight year, has become bowl eligible for the first time since 2003. Behind first-year head coach Ron Prince, the surprising Wildcats have garnered attention across the nation as a feel-good story of sorts. But with No. 4-ranked Texas coming to Manhattan for a nationally televised game Saturday, the Wildcats' lone focus is on composing another chapter.
So just as many experts wrote-off the Wildcats this season - something players insist publicly they paid no attention to -- senior wide receiver Yamon Figurs likely has no idea that the team has become a hot-button topic on the Internet, radio talk shows and among the experts again.
"We don't look at the papers until the end us the season to wait and see if what they wrote was right," he said Tuesday.
