Boston College received unofficial visits from a handful of 2008 recruits last weekend. One of the players making his way up to Chestnut Hill was 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker Derek Jackson.

"It was a really good trip up to Boston College," he said. "I was impressed with everything the coaches told me. I really like their defense and the school after visiting.

"I got up there before the game and hung out on the sideline watching the team warm up. I was able to talk to coach Willis, my recruiter. He filled me in on recruiting and what to look for out of a college. I liked him, he's really funny. I felt like he's a good coach."
