Ask the expert Q&A: Arizona Wildcats
In this week's ask the expert Q&A feature, Josh Gershon of goazcats.com, was kind enough to take time out to give Arizona State fans insight into the team's final regular season opponent, the Arizona Wildcats.
What was the key to Arizona's turnaround in the last month and how does the team maintain that through the ASU game and a possible bowl game?
Offensive execution and turnover margin. In Arizona's first eight games, the team averaged 12.1 points per game, which is a big reason why the Wildcats were 3-5. In the three games since, Arizona has averaged 29.3 points, aided by a positive turnover margin of plus-nine in the games against Cal and Oregon (combined), making it no surprise that the Wildcats have won three straight games. Arizona went from having a negative turnover margin on the season, to leading the conference at plus-seven, in a two-game stretch.
