Cornell Jr. decommits from Spartans
When Quincy (Ill.) Notre Dame offensive lineman Jack Cornell Jr. committed to Michigan St. in late July many Illini fans were not only stunned, but disappointed they wouldn't get the chance to see Cornell continue his football career in Champaign.
The recent firing of Michigan St. head coach John L. Smith led to speculation that Cornell would be opening his recruitment back up. Is that the case?
Cornell was certainly unhappy to learn about the widespread changes in East Lansing, but a close relationship with one assistant coach made the difference.
