About Boise State
Head Coach: Chris Petersen is finishing his first season at Boise State. It's hard to imagine Petersen's career jumping to a brighter start as the Broncos are 12-0 for the first time in school history.
2006 by the numbers: Scoring offense: 39.4 ppg (No. 2 in NCAA); Pass offense: 201.4 ypg (No. 55 in NCAA); Rush offense: 222.8 ypg (No. 6 in NCAA); Total offense: 425 ypg (No. 11 in NCAA); Scoring defense: 15.6 ppg (No. 18 in NCAA); Pass defense: 192 ypg (No. 48 in NCAA); Rush defense: 82 ypg (No. 7 in NCAA); Total defense: 274 ypg (No. 14 in NCAA); Turnover margin: +10 (No. 12 in NCAA).
How Boise State's offense operates: The Broncos are one of the more balanced offenses Oklahoma will have faced this season with only 20 yards separating the pass and rush offense. Senior quarterback Jared Zabransky is one of ten players who entered this season with starting experience and the group has become one of the nation's most prolific offense featuring a heavy mix of runs, rollouts, and play-action passes. The Sooners have seen a similar style in that of Colorado's under-manned offense.
