Rebels get into mix for Florida TE

Ole Miss had fourteen visitors this past weekend, one that flew beneath the radar per say is Florida's Mat Williams.

Williams, a three star tight end prospect by Rivals.com, came away from Oxford very impressed with the Ole Miss program.

"I actually like Ole Miss a lot," Williams said Tuesday. "Very nice campus, I like how the town is small but have all the big things you need."

It was reported earlier that Williams had narrowed his schools to three and Ole Miss wasn't included on that list, apparently that's not the case.

"Ole Miss is definitely in the mix," Williams said. "I have two more visits, one to Louisville and the other to South Carolina. I will make a decision after my visits are completed but right now I have no favorites, but Ole Miss helped it self with this visit."

Williams was overly impressed with the Rebels facilities and coaching staff.

"I knew they had nice facilities from talking to the coaches but I didn't expect nothing like what they have, it's unbelievable," Williams said. "The campus is by far the prettiest campus I have ever seen. Coach Orgeron is a very intense guy, he talked about the direction of the program is headed and wants me to be a part of it."

Williams led his Fort Myers (FL) High School team to a 6-4 record and recorded over 300 yards in receptions from his tight end position.

Williams, a 6-foot-4, 235 pound athlete that runs a 4.8 forty, has already scored a 20 on the ACT and has a 3.5 G.P.A.
